Let,
total No. of students = x
No. of students lived in hostel = x × 80% = 0.8x
No.of Lucky students = 0.8x × 60% = 0.8x × 0.6 = 0.48x
According to question,
0.48x = 1200
x = (1200 ×100)/048
x = 2500
